Cheap Monday is a Swedish clothing label. It was founded in 2000 by ÂÆ' â € "rjan Andersson and Adam Friberg, originally as a used clothing store, in the suburbs of Stockholm. Clothes went on sale on March 10, 2004, and from the beginning there was only one shop called Work Day. The brand name comes from the fact that the original store is only open on Sundays. This brand is known for its strange design, and has grown from its original focus on jeans to insert sneakers, flannels and shirts. The current creative director is Ann-Sofie Back.
Cheap Monday clothing is distributed in stores around the world, including Urban Outfitters and Barneys New York. They are also available from various online stores, including The Iconic, SurfStitch and ASOS. In addition to the franchisee, Cheap Monday has five stand-alone stores in London, Copenhagen, Paris, Beijing and Shenyang. Several pop-up stores have also been established over the past few years, in Stockholm, Utrecht, Los Angeles, and Hong Kong.
Their skull logo initially included an upside-down cross. The designers of the logo, BjÃÆ'¶rn Atldax and Karl Grandin of the design group VÃÆ'  ¥ r, mean it as an anti-Christian statement, citing religion as the cause of many wars. In January 2010, the logo was changed with an inverted cross replaced by a single vertical line.
