One red paper clip is a website created by Canadian blogger Kyle MacDonald, who switched his way from a red paper clip to the house in a series of fourteen online trades for one year. MacDonald was inspired by Bigger's childhood game, Better . His site receives many notifications to track transactions. "Many people ask me how I have raised so much publicity around the project, and my simple answer is: 'I do not know ' ", he told the BBC.

Trading timeline
MacDonald made his first trade, a red paper clip for a fish-shaped pen, on July 14, 2005. He achieved his goal of trading home with a fourteen deal, trading the film's role for a home. This is a list of all transactions created by MacDonald:
- On July 14, 2005, he went to Vancouver and traded paper clips for a fish-shaped pen.
- He then traded the pen on the same day for hand-made door handles from Seattle, Washington.
- On July 25, 2005, he went to Amherst, Massachusetts, with a friend to exchange the door knob for the Coleman camp stove (with fuel).
- On September 24, 2005, he went to California, and traded a stove for Honda generators.
- On November 16, 2005, he went to Maspeth, Queens, and traded the generator for an "instant party": an empty barrel, an IOU to fill the barrel with a beer of choice, and a Budweiser neon sign. This is their second attempt to trade; the first result was a temporary seized generator by the New York City Fire Department.
- On December 8, 2005, he traded an "instant party" for Quebec's comedian and radio personality, Michel Barrette for the Ski-Doo snowmobile.
- Within a week, he swapped a snowmobile for a two-person trip to Yahk, British Columbia, scheduled for February 2006.
- On or about January 7, 2006, he traded second place on a Yahk trip for a box truck.
- On or about February 22, 2006, he traded a box truck for a recording contract with Metalworks in Mississauga, Ontario.
- On or about April 11, 2006, he redeemed a contract to Jody Gnant for a year's rent in Phoenix, Arizona.
