FIDM & amp; Library, Inc. was established in 1978 to serve Fashion Institute of Design & amp; Merchandising (FIDM) and community. Since January 1999, the museum's operations have been separated from the Library to offer more attention and special attention to the special needs of the costume collection, and the museum-trained personnel have been added to the staff.

The museum is located on the ground floor of the Institute of Fashion Design and Merchandising Los Angeles, and houses a collection of over 12,000 costumes, accessories and textiles from the 18th century to the present day, including film and theater costumes. The FIDM Museum is also home to a collection of early Hollywood costumes on loan from Los Angeles City, Department of Parks and Recreation. It presents an annual Movie Costume Design exhibition in the gallery.
The Annette Green Perfume Museum is in a permanent residence at the FIDM Museum & amp; Gallery, located on the 2nd floor.
