Tufting is a textile weaving type in which the yarn is inserted on the main plinth. This is an ancient technique for making warm clothing, especially mittens. After knitting, a short U-shaped loop of additional threads is introduced through the fabric from the outside so that the tip leads inward (for example, toward the hand inside the glove). Typically, tassel threads form a regular arrangement of "dots" on the outside, sometimes in contrasting colors (eg, white in red). On the inside, tassel threads can be tied for safety, though not necessary. The ends of the knitting yarn then frill, so that later it will feel, creating a layer, solid isolation in a knitted garment.
