Bleeding spots (also known as where age , solar lentigo , " senile lentigo > old age spots , " senile spots ") are defective in skin related to aging and exposure to ultraviolet radiation from the sun. They range in color from light brown to red or black and are located in the areas most often exposed to the sun, especially the hands, the face, the shoulders, the arms and forehead, and the scalp if bald.
The spots get its name from the fact that they were once mistakenly believed to be caused by liver problems, but they are physiologically unrelated to the liver, except for the same color. From age 40 onwards the skin is less able to regenerate from sun exposure, and liver spots are very common in this age group, especially in those who spend time in the sun.
In most cases, the liver spots do not pose a threat and require no treatment, although sometimes they have been known to obscure skin cancer detection. However, although the condition is benign, the spots of the heart are sometimes considered unpalatable and some people choose to get rid of it. This can be done by electro surgery, laser treatment, cryotherapy, or the use of depigmentation agents, such as hydroquinone, tretinoin, topical cysteamine, azelaic acid or alpha hydroxy acids.

Cause
Unlike nevi melanotic and nevi verukosa on the skin, age spots change over time in color and shape. Misrepair-accumulation of aging theory proposes hypotheses about the development of age spots. First, the development of flat places is the result of the accumulation of old basal cells. When the skin is old, some old cells containing the lipofuscin body can not be removed. Older cells will affect the functionality of local tissues and increase the aging of neighboring cells. With feedback, more and more neighboring cells grow old and contain lipofuscin. They collect and form places with irregular shapes. Second, the prominence of a flat place is the result of the death of old cells in place and the release of the lipofuscin body. Isolation of the indigestible lipofuscin body in fibrotic capsules is essential for maintaining the structural integrity of the tissues. Successive encapsulation of dead cells and lipofuscin body resulted in the growth of the place in three dimensions. The solid lipofuscin bodies in the capsule make the place stand out soft and dark in color.
