Acupuncture of the hand , also known as Koryo's acupuncture , is a modern acupuncture system, created by Yu Tae-u in the 1970s, in which the hands represent the whole body and are bent or stimulated during treatment. Hand acupuncture is popular among the general public as a form of self-medication in Korea, and has adherents in Japan and North America; it is also popular among Koreans abroad. Korean hand acupuncture differs from American hand reflexology, another form of alternative medicine.
